3) Discuss the challenges and opportunities for the successful growth and adaption of our profession.
The purpose of this presentation is to give meeting participants an overview of the current cytology market, using the evidence currently available to us, and how this market may effect how we practice cytology in the future. To properly engage this discussion, attention will be given to the topics of cytotechnologists’ scope of practice, the cytology education program environment and current and predicted market trends. Special attention will be paid to the work the ASC has done in this regard, including information from the ASC Summit as well as any work performed by the current committee commissioned to work on this issue.
