Without a doubt, the Society’s scientific content and Meeting activities continue to be elevated, and I am looking forward to submitting my next abstract and booking my trip to Washington DC.
I networked with professionals from all laboratory backgrounds, which was really eye opening as a young cytotechnologist. The ASC Annual Scientific Annual Meeting made me feel part of something bigger than myself and our laboratory.
This year’s meeting was particularly interesting with the addition the ASC Foundation Young Investigator Grant, presented as Cytology Shark Tank contest, which allowed audience members to learn about cutting-edge research projects in an engaging format.
As a new cytotechnologist, meetings such as this serve as a great opportunity to network and to hear about new ideas and research.
Having just completed my first year in the field, this Meeting allowed me to actively learn from discussions about lab procedures, diagnoses, and techniques from cytology professionals from around the world.
I was impressed by the variety of educational activities offered at the Meeting, including: microscopic sessions, virtual slide seminars and video microscopy, not to mention the motivational effect of interacting with the big names in the field of cytopathology who consistently attend these meetings.
